Restaurant Software That Integrates with DoorDash

DoorDash is the largest U.S. third-party delivery marketplace. Restaurant platforms either inject its orders into the POS/online-ordering dashboard or use it as a delivery driver pool.

For this guide we tested and reviewed the platforms hands-on wherever a trial or demo was available, and verified each price against the vendor's own pricing page before publishing.

Overview #

The job a DoorDash integration does is kill the extra tablet. Instead of a DoorDash screen beeping next to the POS, orders flow into the same dashboard the kitchen already watches — and in some cases the restaurant uses DoorDash only as the driver.

Toast surfaces DoorDash through Toast Delivery Services, and Square for Restaurants drops DoorDash delivery-partner orders straight into its Orders tab. ChowNow aggregates DoorDash orders back into one dashboard so menu changes and reporting stay centralized, while Popmenu uses DoorDash as the delivery leg of its own online-ordering add-on. SevenRooms connects the DoorDash reservation marketplace rather than delivery.

How DoorDash integration works #

DoorDash connects to restaurant platforms through one of three technical patterns: (1) native data feed built into the platform; (2) certified partner-marketplace connector installed by admins; or (3) webhook/API integration built via the vendor's REST API and file/data exchange.

The choice of pattern determines the depth of data sync, reconciliation and record mapping available. Native feeds ship in weeks; marketplace connectors deploy in days; API builds require engineering.

Common setup steps
  1. Verify vendor integration depth (native / certified / marketplace)
  2. Install connector from the vendor's integration directory or marketplace
  3. Complete OAuth 2.0 handshake or API key exchange
  4. Map menu items, sales and staff records to the platform schema
  5. Configure reconciliation and sync frequency for each data feed
  6. Test the sync with 5-10 real transactions
  7. Roll out to production in a phased pilot

Top 4 use cases for DoorDash + restaurant software #

  • ✓ Pull DoorDash orders into the POS or ordering dashboard instead of a separate tablet
  • ✓ Use DoorDash as the driver for first-party online orders (dispatch, not marketplace)
  • ✓ Keep one menu in sync across DoorDash and the restaurant's own channels
  • ✓ Centralize marketplace and direct-order reporting in one place

Limitations to verify before signing #

DoorDash marketplace commissions still apply on marketplace orders — an integration cleans up the workflow, not the economics. On lighter POS tiers (for example CAKE POS) marketplace connectors can sit behind the higher package. "In-house delivery via DoorDash" (as Popmenu frames it) is the driver-dispatch model and is priced differently from a marketplace listing.

Frequently asked questions #

From vendor research: Toast, Square for Restaurants, ChowNow, Popmenu, CAKE POS, Focus POS, Rezku and SevenRooms (reservations).

No. It removes the second tablet and manual re-entry; marketplace commission still applies on marketplace orders.

The dispatch model where a restaurant uses DoorDash couriers for its own direct orders. Rezku names DoorDash Drive specifically.

How we score depth. Native means the integration is built into the platform out of the box, with automated data sync. Certified means the vendor is in the DoorDash partner certification program. Marketplace means an app/marketplace listing or webhooks-level connector. Sources: vendor integration directories, partner-marketplace catalogs and vendor product documentation as of June 2026.
